Item: Quality Pair of Sterling Silver English Bonbon Dishes Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co.  Nice pair of English Sterling Silver Bonbon Dishes made by Royal Silversmith makers Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company of London.  Both have ribbed outer edging with inner pierced border leading onto smooth interior.  Each sit upon three cast & applied sterling silver feet, both dishes have full sets of matching Sterling Silver Hallmarks to the base and also has the added benefit of having the Goldsmiths& Silversmiths Company 112 Regent Street, W1 stamp.  Both dishes has a highly polished silver finish and free from any personalisation or initialling. For the collector of fine English Silverware. Would also make a superb gift.

Maker:   Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd (G&S) was a High Street jeweller with Royal Appointments which was set up by William Gibson in London in 1880. They were situated in Regent Street, London W1. They amalgamated with the Crown Jewellers, Garrards in 1952. There are advertisements in the Illustrated News for the years 1887 and1889.

Hallmarks: Makers Mark GS & Co. Date Letter  R 1931 Lion .925 Sterling Silver Finest, leopard London.

Size: Each dish 110mm wide x 40mm high.

Weight:  145gms.

Condition: light surface marks consistent with age and genuine use.  One dish foot pushed slightly inwards, one little bump and two pin head dings, other bowl feet slightly pushed in, apart from that displays very well, quality set.
