This is a rare October 23rd, 1933 broadside (single page playbill) from the one-week, Pre-Broadway engagement of the MAXWELL ANDERSON play "MARY OF SCOTLAND" at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C. (The production would open November 27th, 1933 at the Alvin Theatre in New York City and run for 248 performances.) ..... The play starred HELEN HAYES, PHILIP MERIVALE and HELEN MENKEN and the cast included CECIL HOLM, JOCK McGRAW, FRITZ LEIBER, GEORGE TAWDE (replaced out-of-town by WILLIAM JACKSON), MAURICE F. MANSON, EDWARD TREVOR, LEONARD WILLEY, MARY MICHAEL, HELEN SHEA, DEANE WILLOUGHBY, CYNTHIA ROGERS, GEORGE COLOURIS, ANTHONY KEMBLE-COOPER, EDGAR BARRIER, PHILIP LEIGH, WILTON GRAFF, ERNEST LAWFORD, CHARLES DALTON, STANLEY RIDGES, ERNEST COSSART, PHILIP FOSTER and QUENTIN ANDERSON ..... CREDITS: Book by MAXWELL ANDERSON; Sets and Costumes designed by ROBERT EDMOND JONES; Directed by THERESA HELBURN; Produced by THE THEATRE GUILD..... DETAILS: The over-sized single page, one-sided playbill measures 6" X 13 1/2" inches and includes full production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: With the exception three horizontal folds and moderate creasing, this broadside is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
