This is a rare February 23rd, 1953 "Playgoer" playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the SAM and BELLA SPEWACK comedy "MY 3 ANGELS" at the Walnut Theatre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (The production would open March 11th, 1953 at the Morosco Theatre in New York City and run for 344 performances.) ..... The play starred WALTER SLEZAK and featured JEROME COWAN, CARMEN MATHEWS, HENRY DANIELL, JOAN CHANDLER, WILL KULUVA, ROBERT CARROLL and DARREN McGAVIN (who would be making his Broadway debut) ..... CREDITS: Book by SAM and BELLA SPEWACK based on "La Cuisine des Anges" by ALBERT HUSSON; Sets designed by BORIS ARONSON; Costumes designed by LUCINDA BALLARD; Directed by JOSE FERRER; Produced by SAINT-SUBBER, RITA ALLEN and ARCHIE THOMSON ..... DETAILS: The eight page playbill measures 6" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios ..... BONUS: Includes a letter from the American Theatre Society that accompanied a set of subscription tickets for the production (last scanned image) ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a light fold across the middle and minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian.
