Symptom
Abnormal noise like “thud” from MDPS when moving the steering wheel to right or left under condition
that the vehicle is stopped.
■ Countermeasure
Only for a customer’s specific complaint mentioned above, replace the affected flexible coupling only with
a newly improved one.
Some vehicles might experience abnormal noise like “thud” originating from MDPS when moving the steering wheel to right or left under the condition that the vehicle is stopped. This is caused by the premature wear of flexible coupling in the motor of MDPS. Hyundai has a newly improved the affected flexible coupling in material to correct the symptom. If any noise like “thud” from MDPS, replace the affected flexible coupling only with a newly improved one as not whole assembly but partial component.
