DESCRIPTION:
Antique large ebonized late Regency period armchair with comfortable seat 1830 carved detail.
Of generous proportions this is an unusually rare large fauteuil armchair ideal as library chair for reading etc.
Excellent hand french polished ebony finish to a strong and sturdy frame ready to cover in your favourite fabric or even leather!
The neoclassical carved back with athenian scrolls carvings . The back back with a padded backrest. Neoclassical scrolling arms meet the wide seat frame and are raised by turned and reeded carved front legs and sabre rear legs in the William IV manner. The ebonised french polished finish is all hand done and in excellent condition.
The actual timber chair frame is probably birch or fruitwood and very heavy.
All are very strong and sturdy.
All the sub upholstery is in good condition and the large seat is made more comfortable with springs. Armrests are padded but one fabric cover has come away.
English early to mid 19th century original.

All purchases must be picked up within 14 days unless prior arrangements are by mutual consent.
