This is a rare November 3rd, 1947 playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of William Shakespeare's "ANTONY and CLEOPATRA" at the Cass Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. (The revival would open November 26th, 1947 at the Martin Beck Theatre in New York City and run for 126 performances.) ..... The play starred GODFREY TEARLE and KATHARINE CORNELL (who received the Tony Award for "Best Actress in a Play") and featured CHARLTON HESTON (in what would be his Broadway debut), MAUREEN STAPLETON, KENT SMITH, LENORE ULRIC, RALPH CLANTON, IVAN SIMPSON, ALAN SHAYNE, THEODORE MARCUSE, ELI WALLACH, ROBERT DUKE, OLIVER CLIFF, DAVID STEWART, JOSEPH WISEMAN, DAVID ORRICK, JOSEPH HOLLAND, MARTIN KINGSLEY, BARNET BIRO, BRUCE GORDON, BETTY LOW, DAYTON LUMMIS. DOUGLASS WATSON, CHARLES NOLTE, ROBERT CARRICART, GILBERT READE, RUDULPH JUSTICE WATSON, ANTHONY RANDALL and ERNEST ROWAN .....
