UNIQUE, LARGE HAND CARVED

DRIFTWOOD ART SCULPTURE

FROM THE SHORES OF

LOCH ETIVE, SCOTLAND.

Height 28 inches, Max width 13 inches, weight 4.7 kilos

I picked up this piece of driftwood from the shore of

Loch Etive in Argyll, Scotland some years ago.

I left it to dry thoroughly and then hand carved it

to remove the outside rotten wood revealing

the solid heart of the piece within.

I deliberately allowed the natural curves and flow of the grain

to dictate the final shape and then sanded, oiled and polished it.

I don’t know what type of tree this was, but it has a lovely warm,

honey glow and is very solid at nearly 5 kilos.

It is mounted on a base of solid Parana Pine.

I have been working in wood for over 50 years and

I am now retired and based in Argyll in the West of Scotland.

I am particularly pleased with this imposing piece,

as I hope the buyer will be.

Thank you for looking.
