Electrically and mechanically connects permanently to a pre-stripped end of a stranded copper wire and, has a flat rectangular tongue portion for mating to a Female Quick Disconnect in a separable, reusable manner, forming a Quick Connect Wiring Connection. The 3M connector line offers tongue variations (size 0.250 x 0.032" or 0.187 x 0.020 per ANSI/NEMA DC-2) and barrel variations in wire size 22-18 AWG, 16-14 AWG, 12-10 AWG and construction of non-insulated, vinyl insulated, nylon fully insulated, etc. 3M Quick Disconnects have regulatory agency coverage (UL Listing, CSA Certification). The tongue is marked with the wire range and the manufacturer's symbol. 3M Nylon Fully Insulated Male Quick Disconnects are tin plated 0.020 thick copper, with a 0.187 blade conforming to NSI/NEMA DC-2 dimensions and a 0.24 long barrel with a tin plated brass insulation grip covered by a molded nylon funnel entry sleeve which extends to cover the tongue, color coded, and sized for a specified (AWG) wire range (22-18, 16-14). Insulated connectors are UL Listed and CSA Certified for 600 volts maximum, building wire: 1000 volts maximum, signs and fixtures (luminaires). The connector shall be temperature rated 221°F (105°C) maximum.
