Why install a Cobra alarm?
Most people assume that because they can lock their VAN with a remote key, they automatically have an alarm system. This is not the case. From 1997 an EU law was passed to make the fitting of an immobiliser mandatory. However this was not applicable to alarm systems.
More than 75% of VANS sold today do not come with an alarm as standard. So, the onus of securing the vehicle is your responsibility.
The Cobra alarm system is insurance approved. Most insurance companies now require a Thatcham approved alarms and may offer you a discount for having an approved system fitted.
The Cobra adds a full security alarm by using your IVECO remote controled key.
Cobra security upgrade systems are vehicle specific. They are programmed with IVECO specific firmware that communicates directly with the vehicles computer system to monitor and interact with the electronic functions of your van.
The Cobra uses your IVECO factory remote key to arm and disarm the alarm via the vehicle’s computer system, communicating with your van via ultra secure, high-speed digital data.
