This FD-AI adapter is great for Macro work as the adapter acts like a short extension tube.

Auto focus (AF) is not available. The adapter does not have the corrective glass needed to focus to infinity.  

Attaching the adapter to the lens is done manually, not automatically, like attaching a lens cap.
