This is a rare piece and I haven’t been able to find another one like it I eBay or doing them online search. I believe it is a butter dish because it has two attachments on the back with slots in it that seem to be appropriate to hold a butter knife. Measure 8 3/8 inches long it is 4 1/2 inches wide
