Made in the UK by the Royal Mint, this coin pre dated decimalisation which followed in 1971. No country in the world had ever produced a legal tender 7 sided coin, so the coin was a world first.

Extra Fine EF quality the coin is in pristine condition. With Queen Elizabeth II to the front and Britannia on the reverse.

A wonderful gift for anyone born or married in 1969. Equally a gift for coin collectors.

The coin is 27.3mm in diameter just a little more than one inch (25.4mm). The coin weighs 8 grams. The coin was issued in October 1969 to replace a 10 shilling paper note.
In 1998 the size of the 50p was reduced.
