Circulated. Pay-phone token that was used in Italian phone-booths long ago. The token photographed is the Gettone for sale. Weighs about 7 grams and measures about 25mm.

The 4-digit number under TELEFONICO is a date code in year/month format. YYMM. Date codes range from 5909 to 8011 (September 1959 to November 1980).
If a mint mark logo is present, it is located above GETTONE. Prior to 1971 there was no mint mark logo. Later, logos are ESM, CMM, IPM and UT. Almost 300 different date/logo combinations are known.
