UKIYO-E JAPANESE WOODBLOCK ART PRINT "Fine wind, clear weather" (or "Red Fuji" Gaifu kaisei 凱風快晴 ), ca. 1829-1833 by Katsushika Hokusai, from the "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" series. The early autumn sun paints the Mount Fuji red. The southern wind and the clear weather (as specified in the title) allow an uninterrupted view over the majestic mountain with it's lingering snow streaks at the
summit and delicate shadows of wood at it's base. The precise balance
of the composition, colours and detail truly makes it one of the
simplest and at the same time one of the most outstanding of all
Japanese prints. ★ Reproduced from an archive image, respectfully and lovingly restored and enhanced digitally, to remove the non-artistic blemishes and colour fading. ★ A3 print, 297mm x 420mm.
