Can be written or painted on making them versatile. Use chalk, chalk pens, silver/gold markers, paint pens etc etc.

Please note, these are rustic split cut slate, not mass produced items..... Owing to the nature of slate

(thicknesses may vary), it is sometimes necessary to grind the backs to keep them uniform and flat, this does not not detract from their usage.
