This is the input shaft seal or the seal that goes where the steering wheel shaft connects to the rack and pinion

This is a common problem with Volvo rack and pinions, they leak right from the top of the rack where it connects to the steering wheel shaft.

Save money by just replacing the seal , it is easy to replace and in some instances you don’t even have to remove the rack and pinion from vehicle
