Framed & Under Glass

FREESHIP

You are bidding on a nice vintage U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE certificate from the mid-twentieth-century This framed glass-covered certificate was a proclamation that the honoree is now qualified to practice before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Immigration & Naturalization Service. Remember, this was 1951, and MILLIONS of people from around the world wanted to move to America since the big war had just ended  6 years previously.  There were thousands upon thousands of these appeals happening every year.   This cool old certificate was treasured by the original owner, and it is still in remarkable condition considering its age.

The size of the whole item is 9 1/8"  x  11 1/2", with the frame being 1/2 inch all around.  There are only minor defects on the frame, and the backing paper is almost perfectly intact.  The glass is beautiful and without defects.  The ink of the printing on the certificate is nice & dark, while the stamped signature of the "Chairman" is quite faded.  I cannot read his name, but it is something like Thomas Furman or Thomas Forman.

The item again is:

UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
Board of Immigration Appeals
Washington DC
...admitted to practice before the board of Immigration Appeals and Immigration and Naturalization service...
April 26, 1951

See the photos for the best indications of the conditions of this certificate. You can see that it is in very good condition.
