Each of these controllers has been opened up, taken apart, cleaned, reassembled and tested to function properly. All buttons are fully functional. No rips or tears in the wire. There may be marks, and signs of cosmetic imperfections from normal use. These controllers are 30 years old, they will show signs of previous use, but will be clean and fully functional!
