A fine form two-piece oak Gothic style cabinet in old dark finish with trefoil lined crest surmounting an upper tracery gallery back, over a single door cabinet, the center panel adorned with large decorative metal hinges and reticulated carved scrollwork decoration, flanked by two additional carved panels with red cloth backing, continuing over two fitted drawers with carved reticulated fronts, over three additional carved lower panels with medial shelf and two supporting carved front legs. Probably French in origin, dating to the 19th century. Good overall condition, with losses, restorations, shrinkage cracks, fading, and expected wear commensurate with age and use. Some minor worm damage present on verso. Minor structural repairs and restorations, including newer brackets added for support on verso. A working key is included (not original).
