Black asper will reach 20-25m tall in ideal conditions.

Shoots are edible and the timber is very strong and used for construction, furniture making etc.

It will reach full height within 5 years.

It will survive light frosts (-4C).

Black asper is a clumping bamboo so you don't need to worry about it taking over your yard although it can get quite big.
