This DVD (and any other DVD released anywhere in the world) will play just fine on any multi-region DVD player, bought in USA or elsewhere. It will also play on most computers' DVD drives. Some consumers actually own a multi-region DVD player, without knowing it. All you need to do if you own such Philips, Akai, CyberHome or other DVD player is to use your remote control to switch it to multi-region mode. As such features are almost always not documented by the DVD player's manufacturer, we'd recommend you check your DVD player's capabilities by searching the web for the words 'videohelp DVD Player and Blu-ray Player region codes' and choosing the very first link found.
For our USA customers, if you need an advise for a inexpensive ($30-$40) US DVD player, please feel free to contact us or to read our recommenations here: Our DVD player recommendations. Please keep in mind that we do not sell DVD players.

This DVD does not contain pornographic material and may be lawfully sold to and viewed by minors.

Synopsis:
Veteran Italian filmmaker Francesco Maselli once again examines themes of progressive politics and a nation in turmoil in this drama. Siniscalchi is a well-respected intellectual whose writings have earned him a Nobel Prize. Siniscalchi is invited to take part in a conference called "Change The World," being held by a youth group who work out of an abandoned theater in Rome. While initially taken aback by their shabby surroundings, Siniscalchi is truly impressed with their community education and outreach programs, and during an interview tapes for the group's underground television outlet, he speaks out in support of them and makes a passing statement about the potential for revolutionary social change. However, Siniscalchi's words are quickly taken up by the mainstream media, putting him in the middle of a political controversy that divides the nation and makes him both a hero and a pariah. Le Ombre Rosse (aka The Red Shadows) was an official selection at the 2009 Venice International Film Festival.

A world-renowned intellectual is invited to the social centre "Change the World" et set up in a derelict old local cinema in Rome. The man is profoundly impressed by the turmoil and life that animate this place. A revolutionary idea originates by chance during an interview transmitted on "Street TV". These juvenile venues, which are so full of life, could develop into socially and culturally innovative situations. The idea is greeted with general enthusiasm and becomes a project that receives a great amount of publicity in the media. It becomes an international case. Everyone starts rallying around and wants to make the most of the opportunity. However, the vital turmoil that impressed the intellectual is soon distorted, becoming the object of tirades and conflicts between the various souls of the left.
