This DVD (and any other DVD released anywhere in the world) will play just fine on any multi-region DVD player, bought in USA or elsewhere. It will also play on most computers' DVD drives. Some consumers actually own a multi-region DVD player, without knowing it. All you need to do if you own such Philips, Akai, CyberHome or other DVD player is to use your remote control to switch it to multi-region mode. As such features are almost always not documented by the DVD player's manufacturer, we'd recommend you check your DVD player's capabilities by searching the web for the words 'videohelp DVD Player and Blu-ray Player region codes' and choosing the very first link found.
For our USA customers, if you need an advise for a inexpensive ($30-$40) US DVD player, please feel free to contact us or to read our recommenations here: Our DVD player recommendations. Please keep in mind that we do not sell DVD players.

Disc 1
Madame Tutli - Putli (2007)
Madame Tutli-Putli boards the night train, weighed down by all her earthly possessions and the ghosts of her past. She travels alone, facing both the kindness and menace of strangers. As day descends into dark, she finds herself caught up in a desperate metaphysical adventure. Adrift between real and imagined worlds, Madame Tutli-Putli confronts her demons and is drawn into an undertow of mystery and suspense.
Forming Game/ Jeu de forme (2008)
Instructions: Open box. Unfold board. To begin play, place any shape on the board and interact with it with your hands. A series of forms will unfold. They may seem familiar or suggest a hidden order. Try to influence the shapes, or sit back and let them arise naturally. Do not be concerned with winning. Forming Game is played for creative fun.
Hungu (2008)
Under the African sun, a mother's soul resurrected by music will return strength and life to her child. The hungu is an African musical instrument that provides Nicolas Brault with a timeless story told in graceful animation. Film without words.
Rosa Rosa (2008)
While war is thundering at the gates of the city, Rosa and her lover live serenely together, trying to preserve a fragile normality. Rosa Rosa is the interweaving of individual and collective fates via a love story simply told by the couple themselves. In this animation using reworked photos, Félix Dufour-Laperrière offers an unusual graphic world where public and private spaces overlap.
Rains/ L'ondée (2009)
As a sudden downpour lashes the city, all seek shelter. Just for a moment, time expands into immobility. Human activity slows down and almost stops. Some wait in a bus shelter, others are set on going out, if their umbrellas will open. Wiser, the birds just wait out the storm. When the rain stops, the bubble bursts and life goes on. A pencil-drawn animation film.
Retouches (2008)
Animation filmmaker Georges Schwizgebel mesmerizes with visual acrobatics. Between waves on a shore and a sleeper breathing, he alters the balance of shapes in the world and plays with perception to grasp the fleeting movement of our lives. Retouches is a series of passing visions of perpetual motion. A film without words.
Subservience/ Révérence (2007)
The selfishness of the bourgeoisie and the dull passivity of its servants are the theme of this puppet animation presenting the tragicomedy of a society in its death throes, taking refuge in absurd behaviour. A film without words.
Spare Change (2008)
Spare Change is a surreal journey through Larkin's own powerful and ultimately liberating imagination. A street beggar, Astral Pan (voiced by Larkin), takes us from the sidewalks of a wintry Montreal day to the gates of heaven and hell and back. The film features original works by Larkin, including character drawings, flip book animations from earlier in his career and several of Larkin's own paintings.
The Spine (2009)
Oscar® winner Chris Landreth returns with a poignant story of redemption that takes us into the relationship between a man and a woman trapped in a spiral of mutual destruction after 26 years of marriage. The Spine continues Landreth's pursuit of a twisted, beautiful and highly original visual aesthetic, using digital imagery to create characters whose physical appearances are metaphors for their unique souls.
The Man Who Slept/ L'homme qui dort (2009)
A young woman lives with her sleeping husband. Prisoner of her loneliness, she refuses to accept that this man is only a memory.
How People Got Fire (2008)
How People Got Fire centres on Grandma Kay (based on elder Kitty Smith) and the connection she forges with the village children through the oral tradition of their culture.
Robes of War/ Robe de guerre (2008)
War has got inside a woman's very being. Inside her head the soldiers march out, trampling down everything in their path. Like a grieving Madonna, she weeps for son and brother. From her pain and the blood of men killed in battle, an army of women springs up, a powerful column inspired by faith and rebellion. The thirst for justice becomes a thirst for revenge. The woman's body is a weapon, her robes her armour. She who once gave life will deal out death. A film without words.
Drux Flux (2008)
Partly figurative, partly abstract, Drux Flux is an animation film of fast-flowing images showing modern people crushed by industry. Inspired by One-Dimensional Man by the philosopher Herbert Marcuse, the filmmaker deconstructs industrial scenes and their terrifying geometry to show the inhumanity of progress. A film without words.

Disc 2
Sleeping Betty/ Isabelle au bois dormant (2007)
Princess Betty sleeps in a narcoleptic stupor. The king appeals to his subjects to wake her, and several respond: Uncle Henry VIII, Aunt Victoria, an emotional alien, a cool witch and a handsome prince. This worthy Prince Charles lookalike has to leave his royal suburb to save the princess, but will Betty be wakened with just a kiss?
The Necktie (2008)
The Necktie is fifteen years in the life of Valentin, a faithful employee working a useless task in a dead-end job, deceived by a two-dimensional boss. He nonetheless struggles against absurdity with humanity and hope. On his 40th birthday he rediscovers an old accordion hidden in a closet and regains the joy of life.
Come Again in Spring (2007)
Come Again in Spring is a gentle tale about mortality that works in subliminal ways. Can we negotiate our time on earth? How does each one of us reconcile our mortal fate? A lyrical look, exquisitely animated, at a reality as old as humanity, as young as today.
Ha'aki (2008)
HA'Aki is a short abstract-impressionist film in which the animation and the music were made simultaneously in an organic process of symbiotic creativity. Filmmaker Iriz Pääbo tells the highly subjective story of a complete hockey game using a new cinematic vocabulary she calls 'animbits.' Pääbo readily admits she is not the biggest fan of 'Canada's national game,' so the great, though highly underappreciated NHL stalwart of the '60s and '70s, Eric Nesterenko, was her hockey muse in this artistic journey. HA'Aki is a lyrical and wonderfully unorthodox interpretation of hockey as played in the mind of a lyrical and wonderfully unorthodox animation artist. A film without words.
Here and There (2006)
Childhood can be a chaotic time, especially if you're bouncing back and forth between two continents. With engaging candour and gentle humour, the director offers up images from her family album. In drawing on the bewildering events of her rootless early years, she fleshes out an uncertain identity and takes control of her life.
Flutter (2006)
In Flutter, award-winning artist and illustrator Howie Shia marries traditional and digital media with a mish-mash score of jazz, electronics and sampling to create an urban fairy tale that sets to reclaim the contemporary world as fertile ground for epic adventure and romance. This is not a story about humble beginnings, but about two school kids with ambition and love so potent that they reinvent the landscape as endless canvases; infinite mazes. A film without words.
Engine 371 (2007)
Engine 371 is a short animated film that explores the construction of Canada's transcontinental railroad by examining the relationship between man, machine and nature, illustrating their similarities and contrasts and what part this fundamental struggle of man versus nature played in uniting a country. A film without words.
Invasion of the space lobsters (2005)
An advanced race of giant lobsters from outer space land on Earth 'sunny side up,' but no one knows why. An utter failure of communication with these galactic crustaceans catapults the world towards Armageddon bisque! World peace is at stake! What can save us? A little straight talk, perhaps?
Sainte Barbe (2007)
Little bald Léon loves his grandfather. He loves the old man's bushy black beard, which seems endowed with magic powers. It even turns caterpillars into butterflies. But Léon's grandmother wants to cut off the unkempt beard and regain the distinguished-looking man she married, who wore just a tidy moustache. When the old man's asleep, grandmother prowls, scissors in hand, but Léon's keeping a watchful eye on her. As long as grandpa lives, the beard will stay!
Paradise/ Paradis (1984)
Within the crystal chambers of a glittering palace, a magnificent bird performs for its Emperor--its plumage a blaze of color. A blackbird, watching enviously, strives to acquire what he so desperately covets, only to discover that a golden cage cannot vie with the open skies. Innovative mixed-media techniques--cutouts, color pencil renderings on cels and paper, multiple exposures, and backlit perforated backgrounds--combine with human imagination to produce this visually stunning animation short. Film without words.
Vive la Rose (2009)
Based on the last recording by one of Newfoundland's foremost traditional music performers, Emile Benoit's tender delivery of the 18th century French song is the heart of Vive la rose. The story of unrequited love and tentative obsession throughout the beloved's life, sickness and early death is the narrative focus, accompanied by an emotional interpretation of Benoit's strong Newfoundland French accent and wavering old man's voice. Vive la rose is animation on location, rooting the film in a location that evokes the past, and combines ink drawings with a variety of romantic and associative elements and objects.
Land of the Heads (2009)
A vampire is forced go out every night to separate children from their heads. The reason? His vain wife wants to replace her wrinkled head with one that is young and pretty. What a horror! Especially since the lady of the house is never satisfied and the heads keep piling up on the floor. How will our reluctant vampire ever get out of this vicious cycle?
Runaway (2009)
Happy passengers are having a great time on a crowded train, oblivious to the unknown fate that awaits them around the bend. The ensuing crisis leads to a class struggle that is as amusing as it is merciless. Naturally there are victims, but in the end everyone is equal.
