10g  ORGANIC Live Milk Kefir Grains Best Probiotic Culture ( Tibetan Mushroom)

The benefits of Milk Kefir are well documented and information is available from a variety of websites.  The main reason for drinking Milk Kefir is to improve your internal Microbiome by increasing the amount of positive bacteria in your gut.

We only supply fresh grains, fed daily on fresh organic cows milk.  We do not freeze or dry any product.

Our fresh Kefir cultures are maintained in a temperature controlled environment ensuring consistent high quality.

We post Royal Mail 1st Class to ensure your Grains get to you as quickly and as fresh as possible.
We post either same day or next working day. (See special note at end of this description)

Kefir are live grains, once received, place them in milk as they will be hungry.

When you receive your grains you use them to make a natural probiotic drink called Kefir by the process of fermentation in cows or goats milk.

The attached photographs show you what is needed to make milk Kefir:-

A glass container capable of holding approximately 1 liter of milk and kefir grains

A plastic sieve to strain the kefir grains out of the milk

     A plastic jug.

Additionally, you can see the equipment necessary to enjoy your Kefir as a banana (or other) fruit smoothie.

Simple Instructions:-

1)  Place the live Kefir grains into a clean glass jar / jug and add approximately 250ml of milk.

2)  Cover with a tea cloth or piece of muslin and seal with an elastic band. (Alternatively a loose fitting lid works perfectly well)

3)  Leave 24 hours at room temperature until the milk kefir pro-biotic has thickened. The milk may separated but mixes together when sieved to produce a smooth drink.

4)  Pour the mix through  a plastic strainer or sieve into the plastic jug to remove the Kefir grains.  Drink as poured or put the Kefir probiotic drink in a suitable container in the fridge  (if not consuming straight away) and begin the process over again (if you want to produce a regular supply of Kefir drink).  Drink the Kefir within 24 hours when refrigerated.

5)  Wash out the glass container

6)   repeat again from step 1)

Kefir is full of good bacteria for your microbiome which resides inside your gut.  Your microbiome can become damaged as a result of stress , sugar, antibiotics and environmental toxins. Kefir will flood your microbiome with good bacteria.

Kefir grains resemble tiny cauliflowers and have a rubbery texture. Once fermentation is over (24 hours at normal room temperature) you can strain off the Kefir grains using a plastic strainer or colander, you will then be left with the kefir pro-biotic drink, these recovered grains can be used again and again to provide you with regular daily Kefir. You will receive 10 grams of Kefir grains with a little milk which will provide you with 250 ml of Kefir.

We recommend that you start by using the 10g in 250ml of milk and ferment it in a covered glass container for 24 hours at room temperature.  This will initially make a mild Kefir drink giving your gut a chance to acclimatize to the additional positive bacteria.  As the grains grow and multiply on a daily basis the strength of the Kefir will slowly increase with time.

Once you have doubled the amount of grains to 20g (Between 7 and 10 days at room temperature) you can make 500ml of Kefir.  Enough to give 2 people the benefits of your home grown probiotic.

***Occasionally we offer a 'get 10g free'  when this offer is on you will be able to make 500ml of Kefir pro-biotic drink allowing another person to benefit from your order straight away and for free***

Your Kefir probiotic will, over the course of a week, taste progressively stronger.

I like to drink my daily Kefir in the form of a 'smoothy' made with fresh organic fruit.  The advantages of a drink made with organic low fat milk and fresh organic fruit are that you can enjoy your Kefir probiotic and one of your '5-a-day' simultaneously.

A 6-ounce (175-ml) serving of low-fat kefir contains (Dependent on milk type used)Trusted Source

  • Protein: 4 grams
  • Calcium: 10% of the RDI
  • Phosphorus: 15% of the RDI
  • Vitamin B12: 12% of the RDI
  • Riboflavin (B2): 10% of the RDI
  • Magnesium: 3% of the RDI
  • A decent amount of vitamin D

In addition, kefir has about 100 calories, 7–8 grams of carbs and 3–6 grams of fat, depending on the type of milk used.

Most of all:-

Enjoy your Kefir.
