Fish shaped wooden Drum with beater stick from
   Rarotonga of the Cook Islands.
    * Rarotonga is in the South Pacific 1800 miles
       NE of New Zealand - a dependency of New
       Zealand.
    * produces a surprisingly high pitched sound,
       also can be very loud.
    * Hollowed area in center: slot at top measures
       7 3/4" x 1/2" wide by up to 1 1/2" deep.
       Hollowed area improves the resonant and
        acoustical properties.
    * Wood is apparently some exotic species
       probably native to the Cook Islands -
        A hardwood with a brownish red tone and
         some black streaks.    
    * Fine craftsmanship - nice and smooth with
       no finish.
    * Incised eyes, mouth, upper lip and gill
       slits.
    * 14 3/4" long x 2 3/4" tall x 2" deep
    * Drumstick measures 10 3/4" long x 3/4"
       maximum diameter.
