A collection of images from the earliest part of Kertesz's career taken between 1912 and 1925 and all taken in his homeland. Includes his youth and early manhood in Hungary, Communist demonstrations in Budapest in 1918, WWI photos, the Jews and ghetto life in Budapest.

The boards have a few soil spots. Bright with light wear. Slight spine lean. Scattered light foxing to the fore edges. The dust jacket is complete with moderate wear. Corners rubbed. Tiny tear to the DJ lower right hand corner. Some light scratches to both front and back covers and scuff marks to the back cover. Not price clipped. Internally, prior owner name to the first free endpaper. Scattered light foxing to the first free endpaper, the half title page, the last page of the listing of photographs, the page with the printing information, and the rear endpaper. The images are clean, crisp and bright. Tight binding. Tanning to page edges.
