This is a Vintage Akron Charga-Plate (Obsolete) with Leather Case Circa 1950's.  This predates Credit Cards as we know them today.  The plate was usable at certain stores only; O'Neil's; Polsky's and Yeager's.   

Features: 

1.  Front:  Has name and address of user embossed 

2.  Reverse:  Has Names of stores where it can be used and says "To Speed Your Shopping - Use Your Charga-Plate"    

3.  The badge is 2-1/2" wide X 1-1/4" tall 

4.  The card has a dark blue leather case 

5.  The badge shows no wear and no real damage; it doesn't seem to have been used much, if at all

6.  There is no box

This would make a great gift for anyone you know that has worked in the area of finances and/or early days of credit.
