Original autograph letter from 1 Hare Court, Temple dated 20th May 1947 to Joseph Goldman

"It was awfully good of you to write & congratulate me, & I appreciate it very much.

I also take your estimate of where I should ultimately arrive as a great compliment, because where counsel are concerned, there is no better judge of 'horse-flesh' (or should I have said 'ass-flesh'?) than J.W.G.!

Well, I shall do my best to justify you. If I don't you will get me sooner or later for 'rash & hazardous'!.
