This is a signed first edition in good condition.  It was published by William Heinemann in 2007.

 

'The year is 1856.  An English apothecary, J G Hallam is sent by his father to open a shop in the New World, but when that business failed, he became a reluctant partner in a photography firm.  This book depicts the way time alters the contours of even the things we hold most certain.  It shows what suffering the absence of a beloved means.'

 

This is a 1st Edition / 1st Printing (The number string is: 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2).

 

Condition:

Book - Good - rubbing/bumping/wear to the corners and edges, a slight spine lean, opens quite easily to a couple of pages, slight marking and discolouration to the page edges and a couple of pages and soft tanning to the pages.

Dust Jacket - Good - rubbing/bumping/wear to the corners and edges, a couple of v.small nicks/tears and some marking, scratches, discolouration and creasing.

The DJ is not price clipped.

The DJ is in a protective plastic sleeve (non-adhesive).
