Lilium Martagon Hybr. Painted Ladies is a color mixture of yellow, apricot, pink, wine-red, orange, and white blooms, with purple spots on most petals. The whorled stems can grow up to 18 inches and have multiple lilies hanging from the slightly hairy white stems. The flowers have the look of being hand painted with the intricate markings and are quite a fancy flower for a garden and will be admired by those who get to view them. These plants are long term plants and will take a bit to grow and bloom but they are worth the effort. They are also called Turk's Cap and have a widespread native region extending from Portugal east through Europe and Asia as far east as Mongolia. They have won the Garden of Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society for their beauty. Plant several together to achieve stunning views of the lilies dangling in different colors, it would be spectcular to see.
