Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! Check out this fine commemorative patch for the M198 Howitzer batteries of First Battalion, Tenth Marines. These can't be found just anywhere! Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.

1st Bn, 10th Marines is an artillery battalion with a long, distinguished list of battle honors, from WWII to Desert Storm where its individual batteries served with Second Marine Division and 4th MEB. Unit is based at Camp Lejeune, NC. Unit motto: FIRST IN THE WORLD

Recent Decades: As many of you know, this unit was on the ground for the 2003 invasion in Operation Iraqi Freedom! They supported Task Force Tarawa, and fought in the battle of Nasiriyah! In 2004, elements deployed to Iraq with 24th MEU. OIF deployments in 2005 and later are a bit more difficult to chronicle, with individual batteries being assigned infantry and security roles, as well as being attached to other 10th Regiment battalions. This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! Embroidered on black twill with merrowed edge and plastic heat-sealed backing (as shown in 2nd photo.) Colors are clean and bright. See ruler in photo for size comparison.

Packaging & Reliability:

My flat-fee shipping structure covers cost of packaging and postage, and is a best-guess estimate for size and weight of items. It's not an exact science. (The flat fee is still significantly less than my actual cost for postage.) Items ship in zip-closure poly bags to protect from moisture. Items ship as trackable USPS Ground Advantage parcels within the US.

In my experience, the track record of US Postal Service delivery within the US is practically 100% reliable. I may at my discretion choose insurance for shipments of a certain value. But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a current and correct postal delivery address, and to check your mailbox regularly.

Payment (or communication indicating buyer’s intentions) within three (3) business days is appreciated. If no response, a reminder invoice is sent. If I don't hear from a buyer — in any form — after more than ten (10) business days, a case may eventually be filed with eBay’s Resolution Center to recover the Final Value Fee (eBay’s commission) on a sale not completed. In the case of an auction, this usually results in the item being re-listed. :-(
