Lise Charmel: L.48 RH/Rose Althea AC4448 Forme X: This is a beautiful, antique rose pinky-peach coloured silk with a sumptuous sheen, wire free, slightly padded, shaped bustier with embroidered mesh with sprays of leaves and large leaves over the top and bottom of the front and back. The peach mesh is mat but the embroidered leaves have a sheen and are in peach and an old rose pink. The embroidered leaves have different shapes, some curved, some pointed and these shapes rise over the main body of the basque and fall below the bottom. The embroidered mesh is applique'd over the silk at the top and bottom of the basque. There is a lace up detail up the centre back which helps the fit but there is another opening, a hidden zip down the left hand side, so it is put on over the head and zipped up then the lacing at the back is tightened. The reverse should happen when you want to take it off. So, I hope you have help getting in and out of this basque.
There are two main sections to either side of the central panel at the front, the lightly boned seams run up to the bust area and so this basque is formed to fit and shape the bust without underwires. Inside the front three panels there is light padding which gives the sumptuous fabric more body and strength. At the left hand side there is a hidden zip opening which starts a few inches from the bottom and zips upwards. The right hand side has another seam down to mirror the left hand side.
The back has two soft vertical seams in the centre of each side of the main back lace up section, here the boned sides are stronger as the peach eyes are let in and there are nine at each side, through which the round peach lace is threaded to tie with a bow at the top. The back four sections are unlined.
The detachable straps are in flat pinky-peach elastic with a raised satin band down the centre and they may be adjusted from the back upwards. The four suspenders are also detachable and the flat pinky-peach elastic has a satin ribbon ruched up the centre, they are adjustable with a peach butterfly clasp and the clips are in peach metal with a translucent rubber button, this part is covered with peach satin ribbons.
This basque is a pleasure to touch. New and with original tags. Please hand wash in cool water, use no bleach, do not iron or dry clean or tumble dry. The exact fabric is: 41%Silk 35%Polyamide 13%Elastane 7%Viscose 4%Polyester . The retail price was £145.00.
