I have to say, when you listen to this and realize this is a 90 year old man driving this band who has also composed the majority of the songs, your jaw drops.
The music is reminiscent of his best work with Jim Hall years ago and the ebb and flow of music is just unbelievable. This is absolutely top flight stuff and I think this man needs way more publicity then he is getting. This is the music of a young man in his prime, not a warhorse set out to pasture. The only thing I can say that might be construed as a drawback, if you are not a fan of vocals, there are a couple here, but nothing obtrusive. It all falls well within the context of the album. As I matter of fact, I would even go as far as saying, this is a near masterpiece. I think if you buy it, you will not regret it.
