What is it?

Devil's claw "Harpagophytum procumbens" is a plant that grows in the desert in southern Africa. Devils claw is named as such because of the appearance of its fruit. The fruit has spikes/hooks that catch onto the fur of animals whom spread the seeds. The roots of the plant are the important part which contain iridoid glycosides, which have been shown to possess beneficial properties and have been used by tribes to treat a host of conditions including arthritis, pain and inflammation.
