William F. Drueke began making quality chess sets and other games before World War I. The felts and pieces are good, the White queen has a chip out of her coronet; one White pawn has an inkdot about the size of a pinhead. This is a standard weight set, not a heavyweight set. Total weight of the set is about 24 ounces. The kings stand 3 5/8 inches tall with a base diameter of 1 1/2 inches. We lack the original box for this set, so we have added an "El Leon" cigar box for storage. Worth every penny.
