This is a beautiful bright shiny Antique Belt Buckle with a Patent Date of 1923.  It is a buckle that has a Gold Front and a  Monogram Area for your initials; it is Art Nouveau in Design.  Buckles like this were given out for Marathon winners but this one doesn't have a Marathon runner or the word "Marathon" on the side, it only has "Gold Front"  and "Pat. May 29, 1923" stamped on it.  This is an early vintage belt buckle that can be worn or used for display.  There is a scratch on the front about 1/2" long (see photos) but about half of the scratch would not be visible if you were to add your initials to the monogram area.

Features:

1.  The buckle was probably made in the USA, not marked.
2.  The buckle fits a belt that is max 1" wide or less.
3.  The buckle is stamped "Gold Front" on the back side.
4.  The buckle is a pressure grip type buckle - see the photos of the backside hardware and be sure that the belt you have is of the type that will work with this type of buckle, it is not the usual fastening system used much today.
5.  The buckle, if not worn can be a very nice display item also.

Note: Be sure to view all the photos of this item before making a decision to purchase.  We list any defect that we see, but we don't set a condition level, viewing the photos will allow the buyer to set that level.  The photos are considered a part of this description (use the eBay zoom tool).  Be sure to also ask all your questions before you make your purchase because once shipped the belt buckle cannot be returned or refunded, even if the belt you are planning to use with this buckle doesn't fit this application, so be sure before purchasing.

This is a buckle that has great historical appeal.  The buckle resembles the ones won by Marathon winners, so make it a gift to a Runner that you know, he or she will really appreciate it.
