Middle Paleolithic (Old Stone Age) Aterian Point/Tool/Artifact Middle Paleolithic period c. 145,000 – c. 30,000 BP source North Africa (Algeria) The Middle Paleolithic (or Middle Palaeolithic) is the second subdivision of the Paleolithic or Old Stone Age as it is understood in Europe, Africa and Asia. The Middle Paleolithic or Middle Stone Age (MSA) was a period of African prehistory between the Early Stone Age and the Later Stone Age. It is generally considered to have begun around 280,000 years ago and ended around 50–25,000 years ago. The Aterian is a Middle Stone Age (or Middle Palaeolithic) stone tool industry centered in the Maghreb, but also found in Oman and the Thar Desert. The earliest Aterian dates to c. 145,000 years ago, at the site of Ifri n'Ammar in Morocco. However, most of the early dates cluster around the beginning of the Last Inter-glacial, around 130,000 years ago, when the environment of North Africa began to ameliorate. The Aterian disappeared around 30,000 years ago and it is currently not thought to have influenced subsequent archaeological cultures in the region.

This was an everyday work tool which was used to "provide sustenance", and then lost or discarded by our early, early ancestors.
It is sold an shown, this authentic relic will exhibit ancient damage & usage (as seen in the photographs).
Any use, wear and tear (as shown) would be expected given the purpose for which it was originally made and the at least 30000+ years it was lying in the desert/ground.
All that time subject to further damage and erosion by adverse weather, animals, and now by vehicles, in which their human decedents go around hunting for them in order to again "provide sustenance" for all the people who collect and "deal" in them like me here on eBay in the 21st Century!
Yes it is a rock, but it is an old rock and part of the story of how we all got here. Respect the rock... ;-)
