The Strelitzia reginae ‘Bird of Paradise’ is a very beautiful and well-known, evergreen plant world-wide.
The Bird of Paradise is a bold structural plant, which forms large clumps of stiff, banana-like leaves growing up from the base to approx 1-1.5 metres high, Large, spectacular orange and blue bird-like flowers stand above the foliage on long stalks creating a wonderful display.
They go great in palm, tropical style and modern style gardens or large pots. The Bird of Paradise likes full sun to part shade, rich loamy well drained soil.
Protect from heavy frost. Will handle coastal conditions.
