Other books by the same author are:  "The Hidden Hand", "The Missing Bride", "Ishmael", "Tried for Her Life", etc. The front cover and spine have pulled away from the rest of the book (See photo). The pages are a dark tan, especially around the edges. The first few pages are brittle or crispy on the edges from age (see photo). The first 6 pages have threads that have ripped or loosened from the binding at the bottom of the pages (See photos). The book is very readable and has a pretty leaves & acorns design on front and back covers and on
