One of a kind, totally unique curiosity cabinet is now available!

I’ve selected cuttings from a 1930s universal reference book to paste onto the back of the cabinets, glued twine into the inlay of the doors and filled each one with unique treasures.

Cabinet 1 contains:

Six real butterfly wings

Three real animal bones

One real ammonite (fossilised shell)

One sprig of real dried hydrangea

One real smokey quartz crystal

One small skull shaped bead

One small glass bottle filled with glittery black gem stones

One copper coin with a stork/crane on the front.

The cabinet is a vintage find that I cleaned up and painted black using professional wood paint. As such, please expect to see the brush strokes and changes in texture etc in certain light. There is also some of the old blue colour of the cabinet visible on the back of the door, under the glass. I didn’t want to risk breaking the glass by taking it out of the door, so couldn’t paint this part, but it’s only visible when you’re putting things in/taking things out of the cabinet, not when it’s closed. It has little shelves, a glass door, and simple gold/brass locks and hanging hooks.

The cabinet measures 28.5cm high, 23.5cm wide and 4.5cm deep.

The contents is not glued to the cabinet, and can be rearranged as you wish, however some of the more delicate treasures (like the butterfly wings) are glued to the straw. Please note that some of the contents may move in transit and may need repositioning as you would like, but I will take care that nothing gets broken.

All of the little sections have a cutting glued to the back, including the ones with curiosities in them. These can be displayed on a shelf or hung on the wall. It’s one of a kind and once it’s gone, it’s gone!
