It is NOT a radiator .

(The Expansion is found on top of a plastic bottle in the engine bay, it is at the back near the windscreen wipers and to the left of the battery.)

Note:

Never remove the from a hot engine, the may 'fly off' on releasing and hot coolant will burn your hand, if you must remove the , cover the with a suitable cloth, lift the slowly to release the pressure, then carefully remove the , put finger in hot coolant.

Older engines use coolant that is Blue/Green later engines use Pink, Pink coolant can be used in older engines but Blue/Green cannot be used in later engines. Never fill system with just water as the water will freeze and damage the radiator. Always use plenty of coolant.

Top tips

Before Summer check the fan operates as fans can seize over Winter.

If the fan comes on when if feels like or the temperature gauge appears faulty, the Water temperature sensor may be faulty.
