There are 2 possible HCM (Transmission) filters for the 2008-2012 Can-Am SE5 Spyder. See below for more information.

If you have a 2013 or later model SE5 Can-Am Spyder, this kit is not correct for your application. You will need to purchase eBay Item # 384860586336 for a K&N Kit - or  item # 154791908653 for a HiFlo Kit

HiFlo Filter Kit w/Seal Kit

While possible, it is UNLIKELY that your 2008-2012 Can-Am Spyder still retains the shorter HCM filter offered in this listing. This is because BRP (Can-Am) converted virtually all Can-Am Spyders to the new extended HCM filter in late 2012.

If you are not SURE which HCM Filter you have, please contact us before ordering, or read below. It is very easy to confirm which filter you need.

K&N KN-559 Filter - If you have used the KN-559 filter in the past, this kit WILL NOT Fit your application. K&N miss-labeled their Extended Filter as a KN-559. It was not a 559. Rather than fix the labeling, K&N decided to discontinue that filter so it is no longer available.

To confirm which HCM filter you need, simply measure the length of the HCM filter cap, located on the left side of the engine, attached to the finned aluminum portion of the transmission case. If the cap is 7/8" long, then this is the correct filter kit for your SE5 Spyder. If the cap is 1-3/8" long, then this is NOT the correct filter kit. You will need the kit listed as this eBay item.

This Filter Kit is specifically designed for an Electric Shift - SE5 with 559 Transmission Filter - Can-Am Spyder. Do not confuse this with the, now discontinued, K&N 559 HCM filter. The K&N 559 was made to the new Extended filter specifications but, unfortunately, retained the 559 label, which was not accurate and added much confusion to the HCM filter match issue.
