On offer: 1.402g rare lunar basaltic breccia meteorite specimen

Official name: NWA 14188

Classification: Lunar Basaltic Breccia

Description: This is a 1.402 gram partial slice of a rare basaltic lunar meteorite that was ejected from one of the dark maria areas of the Moon's surface. This happened when another meteorite struck that area of the Moon with enough force to eject pieces out of the Moon's gravity well and into our own.

This specimen is unlike many of the lunar feldspathic breccia that are more common among the lunar meteorites types, and instead shows a more rapidly quenched basaltic texture. It is a stunning lunar meteorite with larger slices displaying pronounced long well-defined glassy shock veins. These lunar meteorites offer a unique and beautiful interior, unlike any other meteorite.

What you get: 1.402 gram partial slice/specimen of the lunar basalt meteorite as shown, shipping/storage membrane box, and a signed certificate of authenticity.
