I have for sale an 1892 Spanish medal struck for the 1893 Columbian Exposition that was held in Chicago.  The medal is bronze, it is 2 3/4 inch in diameter, 1/4 inch thick, heavy and in uncirculated condition with one field mark on the obverse and reverse.  B. Maura was the medalist and the medal was struck in Madrid in 1892.  This medal is listed in the Eglit catalog as #111.  The medal obverse shows Columbus on the deck of his vessel with a group of his companions.  A ship can be seen in the background.  Around the rim in Spanish, it reads CRISTOBAL COLON DESCUBRIO EL NUEVO MUNDO EL DOCE DE OCTUBRE DE MIL QUATROCIENTOS NOVENTA Y DOZ REINANDO EN CASTILLA Y ARAGON DONA ISABEL Y DON FERNANDO.  The reverse shows the return of Columbus to Spain. The King and Queen on the dais rise to welcome him.  At the left is a group of Indians brought to Spain by Columbus.  At the bottom rim it reads CUARTO CENTENARIO MDCCCXCII.  Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables.  (18,199)
