If you are considering a very cheap silver chain, DO NOT, it is sure to be fake. Just take a quick look at that sellers feedback by right clicking the sellers feedback number, that should tell you what you need to know.
If you think you may own a fake, hold a magnet against the chain, it should not stick. Silver and Gold are non magnetic. Please do not test the bolt or spring ring, gold and silver are metals too soft to manufacture a spring from and all closures will have a stainless steel spring. If the chain does not stick you have a genuine item, if it does you have sadly bought a counterfeit item and I would suggest you report the seller to Ebay.
