Mei-Do By Kymono, Style 10053:  a cotton and polyester multicoloured striped long kimono with box sleeves with an obi belt around the middle and a co-ordinating coral pink satin drawstring pyjama trouser.   The fabric is so beautiful that it is hard to photograph the colours without them flourescing, I have tried my best, the colours are rich but not fiery as they look in some of the photographs.   I had to use electric light because it is winter here in Scotland.   The narrower stripes have a stronger colour and they are next to a wider stripe with a different tone of the same colour.  The colours alternate from pink to yellow to red to orange, the weave is fine and as it moves it catches the light in a subtle way.   

The stripes all run vertically, around the stand up collar and down the selvedge to where it ties inside at the waist.   The collar and selvedges are in double layers of the striped fabric, as is the obi wide belt which ties with the wide part around the front and then the narrow straps wrap around the back and tie back under the front of the obi.    The box sleeves have the fabric turned in where the arm slots through at the top of the box sleeve, at the bottom third the fabric is sewn shut, the bottoms of the box sleeves are curved not square.  From where the wide selvedges finish down the front near the waist, below this, the material is just folded in with a narrow hem inside.   The bottom of this kimono has the fabric turned up and secured with a single row of orange stitching.   The front has two panels and the back a single panel of the striped material.

The matching coral pink satin bottoms have an elasticated waistband at the back, secured above and below the band where the elastic is.  From the hip sides the front is flat to slip into, there are two pink, doubled over, satin draw strings which may be gathered and tied in a bow at the centre front.   There are vertical seams at the centre front and back, side seams down the legs, the bottoms have a wide hem turn up, secured with a single row of pink stitching.

New and unused.  Made in France.  The retail price of the kimono was £149.50, the retail price of the satin pyjama bottoms was £60 so together the retail price was:  £209.50.   The composition of the kimono is 60%Cotton and 40%Polyester, this should be hand washed, please use no bleach and do not tumble dry, it may be ironed on cool or it may be dry cleaned.  The satin pyjama bottoms are made of 100% Polyester and should be hand washed.     Keep away from Fire.
