Up for sale is a metal bear, designed and handmade in Thailand, by Maitland-Smith. The design is a seated bear hugging and protecting his "honey pot" in the stump of a tree. The pot is a perfect holder for small items, measuring approximately 2.5" across and 1.25" deep. It would be great as a desk accessory or on a side table.
The overall height of the bear is 4.5". This is a heavy item, weighing in at 1 pound, 10 ounces and appears to be bronze. It has nice details and patina. Maitland-Smith is famous for high quality decorative items and this vintage piece is no exception. It is in mint condition with the original label and another sticker with a possible item number, 1053 418.
