This DVD (and any other DVD released anywhere in the world) will play just fine on any multi-region DVD player, bought in USA or elsewhere. It will also play on most computers' DVD drives. Some consumers actually own a multi-region DVD player, without knowing it. All you need to do if you own such Philips, Akai, CyberHome or other DVD player is to use your remote control to switch it to multi-region mode. As such features are almost always not documented by the DVD player's manufacturer, we'd recommend you check your DVD player's capabilities by searching the web for the words 'videohelp DVD Player and Blu-ray Player region codes' and choosing the very first link found.
For our USA customers, if you need an advise for a inexpensive ($30-$40) US DVD player, please feel free to contact us or to read our recommenations here: Our DVD player recommendations. Please keep in mind that we do not sell DVD players.

This DVD does not contain pornographic material and may be lawfully sold to and viewed by minors.

However, you can try DVD's menu to turn off subtitles or try 'Subtitles' button on your DVD player's remote control to turn off the subtitles track. If these steps don't work, then unfortunately subtitles are not optional.

The Scarecrow (1921)
A drunken gardener is challenged to a poker match by agents of the Devil; replete with location shots in Hades of the Devil giving orders to his agents on Earth.
Midnight Wedding (1921)
The film is a delightful tale of a spoiled wedding between child's toys which shows Starewicz's typical style of making amusing films appropriate for children without much sentimentality. As in many of his other films, his daughter Nina plays the role of the child.
The Voice of the Nightingale (1925)
A partly-animated short film, a fairy-tale-like telling of why the nightingale only sings at night. A young girl who has caught a nightingale dreams about the nightingale and its mate, and comes to realize that birds are not made to be captive but free. In return for its freedom, the nightingale loans the child its voice for use in the daytime, which is why nightingales only sing at night.
The Queen Of The Butterflies (1927)
A little girl acts out her role as Queen of the Butterflies until a spider arrives to complicate the situation.
***ATTENTION***The film is Silent with some brief French audio***This film Fetish 33-12 is the original version designed by Irene and Ladislas Starewitch before undergoing cuts by distributors. In 1933 Irene and Ladislas Starewitch produced and directed a film about 1000 meters long entitled intially 'LS 18'. Under pressure from distributors length has been greatly reduced, the film became Fetish Mascot, about 600 meters, distributed in 1934 , the first episode of a series. In 1954 L. Starewitch designed Hangover using images from 'LS 18', which were not included in Fetish Mascot. Just recently reconstruction of the original film was started by using multiple copies of Fetish Mascot distributed in the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and negatives of Hangover, preserved in the archives of L. and I. Starewitch. In 2012 'LS 18' has found its length and assembly from 1933, hence the title Fetish 33-12.
The Claws of the Spider (1920)
In Dans les Griffes de l' araignée (The Claws of the Spider), Wladyslaw Starewicz shows the tragic end that awaits a fly who decides to leave his village for the bright lights of Paris.
Eyes of the Dragon (1925)
A prince, a princess, a dragon ... and of course a fabulous treasure, buried deep in a cave! A fairy tale in ancient China.
Love in Black and White (1928)
The misadventures of a traveling theatrical company, as the actors attempt to put on a show while romantic rivalries erupt backstage.
Fetish Adventures brings together five films made between 1933 and 1937 by Ladislas Starevich and her eldest daughter Irene.
The Mascot (1934)***French audio & Silent with English subtitles***
A toy stuffed dog has just been sewn together when it hears a young child ask for an orange. The child's mother explains that they have no money, and so she cannot buy any oranges. The dog is then packed up along with a box full of other toys to be sold, but it soon winds up in the street. The dog picks up an orange from a curbside stand, and hopes to take it home to the child. But that night, before the dog can get back to the child's home, it must face a series of strange and frightening adventures.
The Ringsmater (1934)***Silent***
Puppet cartoon: whilst child sleeps, Duffy a dog magically creates a circus for her.
The Mascott's Wedding (1935)***Silent***
The Navigator (1936)***Silent***
A dog's shipboard honeymoon voyage takes a turn for the worse when a fierce storm hits the ship.
The Mascott and the Mermaids (1937)***Silent***
