MOOG coils springs are manufactured from heat treated alloy steel to resist sagging and given an enamel coating to resist corrosion. In addition, some springs come with urethane protective tubes. Variable rate springs change resistance as they compress, becoming progressively stiffer, and are ideal for vehicles that carry heavy loads.
