Antique Whites Utica PROSIT Pottery Pitcher Salt Glaze w Cobalt.

Description: Very nice turn of the 20th century salt gazed pitcher manufactured by White's Pottery of Utica, New York. This one features a high relief body with a gray glaze highlighted with cobalt blue. There are no major issues to the piece from use other than wear to the base which is quite normal. The spout remains intact without chips. There is one small area to the left of the handle with wear to the high relief spotted area. This appears to be from thin glaze upon firing. There is one darker area or hot spot to the left of Prosit and to the right of the floral pattern. The inside has a white glaze with a few air bubbles on the bottom of the inside. There is one very small area of the opening edge that appears to have been chipped during manufacturing and glazed over. There are a few paint specks around the opening rim and on the top of the handle that could be removed if desired. Overall, it's one of the nicest I have seen in quite sometime. Most often these have a chipped spout!
