Men's Tom's Full Service Special Anniversary Edition Long Sleeve T-Shirt
This is Amit's artwork reimagines Tom of Finland's iconic men working to restore classical statues. A three-way collaboration between This is Amit, The Tom of Finland Foundation, and HOMOCO commemorating Tom's 100th Birthday in 2020.
HOMOCO is a queer swim brand that draws on the legacy of founder/designer Daniel DuGoff's family's Washington, DC-area gas stations, Homes Oil Company, that went by the nickname "HOMOCO". Their use of the name alludes to that history while clearly stating who the brand is for – fashionable people who love fun!
'This is Amit', is Amit Greenberg, a pop surrealist artist and creative director based out of Brooklyn, New York.
WARNING: The telephone number of the fictional Tom's Full Service Construction Company 🔞 printed on the front of the t-shirt is a working telephone number featuring a rare 1984 dirty talk audio recording that Amid found in the ToF archive.
'Tom of Finland: Bold Journey' is currently on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Helsinki, Finland, 4/28 - 10/29/2023.
'Tom of Finland: Pen and Ink 1965 – 1989' was recently on view at the David Kordansky Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2021).
In addition, 'Tom of Finland: The Darkroom' was recently on view at Fotografiska Tallinn, Estonia (2020). This exhibition was the first to focus on Tom’s photographs, in combination with his drawings, showing his artistic process. The Exhibition was produced by Fotografiska in collaboration with Tom of Finland Foundation on the occasion of the artist's birth 100 years ago.
